Well the 500g jars did come back and I bought 3 of them. I have noticed that they seem to have gone again. Will try tonight when I go shopping. My jar at work has nearly run out. I have just eaten 4 slices of Rivita with Marmite and Cottage Cheese - yum yum!

600 gram large catering packs/tubs of original Marmite, on eBay for £6.75. Search for Marmite or seller: asscal_online or tel: 0845 6432216. I just bought 4 tubs and I'm gonna bath the wife in it and then lick it off.....! Time to celebrate.

It is now well into March and no sign of the 500g jars. I am sceptical about their return: have you noticed the increase in price for the 400g squeezy ones? We gave in, as we were in danger of running out, and bought a 250g glass one, but I refuse (so far) to buy the squeezy version. We shipped a jar to the Falkalnds in July last year, and it wasn't till we got back in November that we compared the consistency to one we had back home. I believe that they've cjanged the recipe so that all Marmite will come in squeezy bottles in future.

I have just found a phone number on the back of a marmite jar for the Marmite Loveline. I phoned it and asked about 500g jars. They say that there have been production problems but large jars will be back on the shelves in March - watch this space.

I can't find any of the 500g jars either. It's a real pain coz I have a silver marmite lid which only fits the large jar so if they have stopped making them then it's been a complete waste of money - and it was't cheap! I'm going on another search today so if I find some I'll let you know.

Don't know if anybody else has noticed this but on the last few visits to my local supermarket I haven't been able to find any of the large size marmite jars.
Does anybody know the reason for this??? II hope they're not phasing them out because the medium size jars just aren't big enough!!!
Any help with this would be much appreciated.
